President Ranil Wickremasinghe presented the 77th Budget of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Parliament on 14 November 2022, under the theme “Sri Lanka, Towards a New Beginning”. Given the unprecedented situation the Sri Lankan economy finds itself in, Budget 2023, complimented by the changes proposed under the Inland Revenue Amendment Bill and the Value Added Tax Amendment Bill, aims at strengthening the economy.
